Scholarships for International Law Students

How to look for scholarships as an international law student, and how to read what a scholarship page actually promises.

Last reviewed 1 November 2026

Where scholarships come from

Funding for international students typically comes from the school itself, from governments, from foundations and from professional bodies. Each has its own eligibility rules, and some are limited to particular countries, subjects or levels.

Reading a scholarship page

Look for: who is eligible, what it covers (tuition, living costs, both), whether it is competitive or guaranteed, the application deadline and whether it requires a separate application from the admissions application.

What this directory records

Scholarships are listed on a program only when the school's own page names them. Absence from the directory does not mean no scholarship exists; ask the school's financial aid or admissions office.
